This project was created under the specification of being a Mixed Reality Game with the keyword “Distortion”.

In Memoria is a first person mixed reality exploration game. It tells the story of a game developer who suffers from chronic memory loss and tries to cope with his disease by capturing memories in a game, essentially creating an interactive diary.
The aim was to recreate lost memories with the use of the Game Engine as creation tool, by distorting and manipulating objects in the world to replicate the confusion and helplessness a patient might experience.
A special point is the usage of the LEAP motion device, a sensor that enables the user to control the game via hand gestures. This kind of MR input simultaneously enables passive and active participation of the player in the game, they are active by moving their arms while never directly interacting with any manual input device. In some way, this represents the game’s character’s struggle of participating in his own life.
